Sensovation are a company involved in the manufacturer of
cameras predominately for the Life Sciences market and Photovoltaic industries.
They offer a range of cooled digital cameras of varying resolutions.

SamBa series cameras

The standard products from Sensovation are the SamBa series cameras. SamBa stands for "sample based detection", which is a built-in feature of all products from Sensovation.
Because of the modular concept of Sensovation’s products, it is possible to equip the SamBa cameras with virtually any image sensor on the market. To achieve our goals we employ the best available sensor technologies:
- On-chip micro lenses for up to 90% Quantum Efficiency (in VIS) at reasonable cost
- Back thinned CCDs for up to 90% Quantum Efficiency from UV to NIR for the most demanding applications
- Architectures for high-speed clocking with high exposure duty cycle
- Single electron detection capability

Modularity allows us to tailor each SamBa model to the specific requirements of various applications. The Sensovation product line of standard products is continuously expanding. The standard products available are models listed in the enclosed table.

Cooled detectors

Most biotechnology applications and the low-light electroluminescence application require highly sensitive detectors with an excellent signal / noise ratio to reach a low detection limit. Cooling of a CCD-chip will reduce dark current significantly and thus improves the signal / noise ratio. The coolSamBa series features robust, maintenance-free deep cooling of the sensor to a delta of up to 60°C below ambient. This allows for longer integration times and noise-reduced readout, improving the limit of detection dramatically. Hermetically sealed Sensors (SensHermetic Technology) prevents condensation and guarantees maintenance free operation.

Flexible Interfaces

SamBa cameras come with USB2 and/or Ethernet interface. The optional data processing capabilities allow to reduce the large data load and enables the use of Ethernet. This allows transmission of images during the integration time and eliminates the need of frame grabbers. It includes an embedded web server which totally eliminates the need for drivers and software and is independent of your host platform.

Powerful SDK

All SamBa cameras come with a very powerful Software Development Kit (SDK), including Active-X, MFC Library, .net Functionality. A TWAIN Interface and/or SDK Viewer is also available for quick and easy image acquisition.
